Hello, friends and neighbors. I want to update you on our weed status this year.
To the right, RCWD has provided their annual Milfoil delineation map, showing where this invasive weed exists on the lake. A major knock down compared to years past!
I'm relieved to see that our investment in the ProcellaCOR treatment starting in 2024 is proving to be effective. If you look at our treatment history that shows what we've done since 2020, you can see a sharp knock down in milfoil year to year: 2026 Treatment History.jpg
As for my own dock, I have some curly leaf pond weed, which typically dies off at the end of June and had to rake some shallower weeds, but I haven't seen Milfoil!
Our plan is to treat whatever Milfoil we're allowed to, so we're awaiting the go ahead from RCWD that's needed to get our permit and apply to the North Basin.
Thank you for your support and the City of New Brighton for being a good partner in this by splitting treatment costs 50/50. IT'S CLEARLY MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
Most importantly, be SAFE out there and abide by our lake rules ~ because you live on the lake doesn't make you special.
