New Brighton, MN ~ Ramsey County

Lake rules, as posted at the landing and in detail on the City of New Brighton's site, are as follows.  If you see someone breaking the rules that requires attention, please call Ramsey County Sheriff at 651-767-0640 or 911 if it's an emergency.  

  • Make sure your guests know the rules of the lake; drive counterclockwise and don't trail skiers/tubers/wakeboarders, stay 100 feet from shore.  
  • Canoe/Kayaks should avoid the "ski lanes" and instead stay WITHIN 100 feet of shore on busy days

Watercraft Operation Regulations

High speed operation hours:

  • Sunrise Monday - Sunset Friday
  • 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Saturday, Sunday, and legal holidays
  • Other hours: Slow, no-wake speed

Personal watercraft operating hours: 9:30 AM to 1 hour before sunset.

Slow, no wake speed 5 MPH or less.

Slow, no wake speed within 100 feet of shoreline, except as modified by buoys.

Wake producing watercraft must operate in a counter-clockwise direction.  

Slow, no wake speed must be observed at all times when lake elevation exceeds 866.22'.

Also, per Minnesota Statute 86B.311 GENERAL RULES FOR OPERATION, a person may not operate a watercraft in a manner that obstructs the normal and ordinary navigation of the waters.  So if you do want to park, please move off to the side of the lake into one of coves.
