New Brighton, MN ~ Ramsey County

With Long Lake being one of the closest recreational lakes to the downtown areas, we are a popular destination for a quick urban outing.  To maintain a safe environment for our residents to enjoy, LLIA contracts with New Brighton Police Department to have a Monitor patrol the lake on weekends and holidays.  Primary responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring the landing to ensure parking and boat launch rules are being followed
  • Inform watercraft owners of the Rules of the Lake and High Water/Minimum Wake rules and ensure they are being followed
  • Providing assistance and support to any public safety events on the lake or at the park
  • Control the spread of invasive species by informing watercraft owners of the importance of cleaning out water and removing weeds before entering/leaving the boat launch
  • Assist with backing, launching, and recovery of boats if needed
  • Informing children of the importance of water safety and life jackets.
