In 2008, Rice Creek Watershed District performed a shoreline inventory of Long Lake: Studies have shown the restoring your shoreline is beneficial to the water quality and provides habitat. Funding Grants for Shoreline Restoration can be provided through RCWD Clean Water Grant Program. Some example shoreline restoration projects can be seen at:
