Plant Survey & Water Quality Reports

As a follow up to our Annual Meeting, RCWD provided the following reports:

  • LongLake WQ thru 2024.docx - Summer averages (June-Sept) for Secchi (water clarity), phosphorus, and chl-a (algae). 
  • Long Lake RCWD R24 2-10-25.pdf -  Here is the plant survey conducted last summer (August 2024).  There was a question about ‘what native species are present?’  See Table 1.  Coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum) was by far the most common native plant.  Elodea (Canada waterweed), stringy pondweed (Potamogeton spp.), and flatstem pondweed (P. zosteriformis) were also common.  More info here: DNR - Aquatic Plants: Submerged Plants
