We enjoyed it last year and will try to build on it for this 2020. This is just a reason to get outside and say hi to one another before spring arrives.
- All lake residents set out a Luminary ~ they're easy to make:
-
- Fill a Home Depot bucket with water
- Set it outside for one or two days ~ if you set it out for 3 or 4 days it will just be a block of ice.
- Bring inside for 15 minutes to loosen it from the bucket
- Go back outside and slowly and gently dump the bucket upside down and your luminary will slip out
- It will have some thin ice on the top, so break the ice out with a hammer
- Dump out the water in the luminary
- Set down by the lake in front of your house with a candle in it.
- Or visit our Luminary page for more detailed directions.
- This is open to neighbors ON and OFF the lake, so please invite others.
- If you want to have a bonfire at your house feel free. Or if you're willing to sponsor a fire and warm beverage please let me know.
- There will be luminaries and a bonfire in the middle of the South Basin for folks to gather
- Make some extras to fill in the gaps for those that are unable to make one. I plan to make as many as I can.
- We need volunteers to make and set out luminaries. If you're open to making 25 or so please let me know.
