Aquacide for Weed Treatment

Just wanted to take a moment to add a post about my experience with Aquacide for Milfoil management around my dock and shoreline.

First thing I did is file for a permit per the directions on the LLIA website: Individual AIS Treatment.  The DNR approved my $35 permit and sent me 5 "weed treatment" posting signs.

I bought a 50 pound bag of Aquacide for $390 from their location in White Bear Lake.

I tossed out about 10-15 pounds of pellets in early June while the weeds were growing.  I did this at dusk when the lake was calm.  Throwing pellets when the weeds are growing and when the lake is calm is important.

About a week later, the weeds started floating to the top looking like spaghetti and two weeks later the areas were clear.  Or if there were remaining patches they pulled up easily since they were dead.

Since they slowly died, they didn't wash up on shore or become a burden on the beach.
