City Council Meeting: Invasive Weed Control Funding

  • 14 Feb 2017

  • City Hall, Lower Level - Enter from the back

Hello,

The LLIA homeowner’s association has been working with the City of New Brighton, Ramsey County and Lake Restoration Group to treat invasive species in the lake.  We have been focusing on Eurasian Milfoil and Curly Pond Leaf.  At tomorrow night’s meeting the council will be discussing having the City fund the treatment of this by paying Lake Restoration approximately $15,000. 00 (up to).   I am asking you to either email the council and/or come to the meeting tomorrow night to voice support for this.  Going forward into upcoming years we are hoping to get funding also from Ramsey County and the council would like to see some contribution from LLIA as well.

The emails for the council members are - val.johnson@newbrightonmn.gov ; gina.bauman@newbrightonmn.gov; mary.burg@newbrightonmn.gov; paul.jacobsen@newbrightonmn.gov; brian.strub@newbrightonmn.gov   The city manager is dean.lotter@newbrightonmn.gov.

Also, if you know of others on the lake that will support this please share this with them. We are hoping that some emails can get out before tomorrow night.  Thank you.
